“ഭൂമിയും അതിലെ പാവങ്ങളും അടിയന്തിരമായി ആവശ്യപ്പെടുന്നത് ഭദ്രതയുള്ള സമ്പദ്-വ്യവസ്ഥയും സുസ്ഥിതി വികസനവുമാണ്. അതിനാല്‍ മാനസികവും ധാര്‍മ്മികവുമായ ഇന്നത്തെ മുന്‍ഗണനകളെ നാം പുനര്‍പരിശോധിക്കേണ്ടതാണ്. അവ ദൈവകല്പനകള്‍ക്കും പൊതുനന്മയ്ക്കും അനുസരണമായിരിക്കണം.”
