By Vatican News

The Scout Association of Nicaragua is among ten organizations in the Latin American nation that have lost their legal status.

As reported by the state newspaper "La Gaceta" on Friday, February 16, Nicaraguan authorities said the Association allegedly failed to report financial statements.

The Fraternidad Misioneras del Fiat de María was subjected to the same fate as were other NGOs.

The University of Health Sciences and Renewable Energies has also been banned, accused of opening offices "without authorization."

The assets of the banned organizations will be confiscated by the Nicaraguan government.
