The Israeli Defence Forces say about 40 rockets were launched from Lebanon targeting northern Israel on Saturday.

Most were directed at the area of Meron in northern Israel. The IDF replied by striking a Lebanese military unit that took part in the launches.

Elsewhere, according to Palestinian media reports – and the WAFA news agency - at least 13 Palestinians were killed in an Israeli air raid which targeted a house in Khan Younis on Saturday.

Most of the dead were women and children, and several others were wounded in the airstrike. Around the same time, Israeli jets also launched an attack on Deir el-Balah in the central Gaza Strip.

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) says Israeli army has issued evacuation orders in two additional residential areas in the north and west of the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza.

The Health Ministry in Gaza says the Palestinian death toll now stands at 22,600 since the onset of the ongoing Israel-Hamas war, which has been raging since early October.
