Egypt calls for stability in Syria

The Egyptian Foreign Minister has called for an end to all forms of terrorism in Syria in order to restore stability.

The Egyptian Foreign Minister has called for an end to all forms of terrorism in Syria in order to restore stability.

During a phone call with the United Nations Special Envoy to Syria Geir Pedersen, Sameh Shoukry repeated  Egypt's full support for efforts to reach a comprehensive political settlement in Syria in line with Security Council resolutions.

The two men also discussed ways to alleviate the suffering of the Syrian people.

In a separate development, the Israeli military launched airstrikes on Syria on Sunday after a second rocket barrage was fired from Syria towards the Golan Heights.

Three rockets were launched from the Syrian territory towards Israel, according to Israel state radio.
