"I want to renew my forceful and heartfelt appeal to end all conflict and to resume the peace process in a serious way, so that violence can end and people can return to living in dignity."

Pope Francis launched that appeal to a large group of South Sudan's internally displaced people (IDPs) on his second day in the country.

The Pope also met with Catholic bishops, religous, and clergy and held an ecumenical prayer service with the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, and Rev. Iain Greenshields, the Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland.
