Pope accepts Cardinal Becciu's resignation

On Thursday, Pope Francis accepts Cardinal Becciu's resingation as Prefect of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints, and to rights connected with the cardinalate.

The Holy See Press Office issued a statement on Thursday evening. In it, it was communicated that:

"Today, Thursday, 24 September, the Holy Father accepted the resignation from the office of Prefect of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints and from the rights connected with the Cardinalate, presented by His Eminence Cardinal Giovanni Angelo Becciu."
