Curriculum vitae of Professor Eric Steven Lander

Professor Eric Steven Lander was born in New York (USA) on 3 February 1957. He graduated from Princeton University in 1978 and received his PhD from Oxford University as Rhodes Scholar in 1981.

As a geneticist, molecular biologist and mathematician, he has played a pioneering role in the definition, understanding and biomedical application of the human genome.

He is President and Founding Director of the Broad Institute of Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Harvard (MIT), Cambridge (USA). In addition, he teaches Biology at MIT and Systems Biology at Harvard Medical School.

He has received numerous national and international awards.
