Christmas Season 2021: Rejoice in Christ's birth - Patriarch Pizzaballa, Holy Land

The birth of Jesus is the most powerful sign and message of hope in a world darkened by the shadows of fear and uncertainty caused by the coronavirus pandemic. We bring you the voices of religious leaders and heads of Christian charitable organizations as they look to a future in which “No one is saved alone.” Today’s message is from the Latin Rite Patriarch of Jerusalem, Pierbattista Pizzaballa.

“I hope you can take advantage of this time of celebration and rejoice in the birth of our Saviour Jesus,” says Archbishop Pierbattista Pizzaballa, the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, in his Christmas message for 2021.

“We are waiting for you!”

Patriarch Pizzaballa says that although it is not currently possible to visit the Holy Land, “we know that soon the way will be open again” – and so the Christian community “is preparing everything to make you live and offer you the best of the Holy Land.”
