By Vatican News

Pope Francis sent a message, dated 12 June, to the Consolata missionaries gathered for their XIV General Chapter from 22 May to 25 June.

The Holy Father thanks them for their missionary service to the Church, encourages them to continue their mission by identifying spiritual and pastoral paths and offers his blessing.

MESSAGE IN FULL:

"On the occasion of the XIV General Chapter of the Consolata Mission Institute, whose theme is "Consecrated for the mission.", I am pleased to send you my greetings, hoping that this important event may rekindle in each of you the resolve to faithfully adhere to Christ and the joyful appreciation for fraternal life in community.

I encourage you to identify spiritual and pastoral paths to pursue with renewed enthusiasm the mission of the Congregation according to the charism of the Founder, Blessed Joseph Allamano, nurturing, with the help of divine Grace and prayer, the desire to spread everywhere, especially in the existential peripheries, the life-giving light of the Gospel.

In thanking this religious family for their generous service to the Church, I invoke the assistance of the Holy Spirit upon the work of the Chapter and, as I entrust all to the maternal intercession of the Consolata, I cordially send my Blessing".
