The excitement of seeing the Pope in Thailand

Fr. Claudio Corti is a priest of the Pontifical Institute for Foreign Missions (PIME). He says people from North Thailand have waited for over 30 years to see the Pope.

Fr. Claudio Corti, a PIME missionary in Thailand, speaking to Alessandro Guarasci of Vatican News, says the representatives of the Catholic community of North Thailand travelled for two or three days, sacrificing time and money for the journey. This is truly an exciting moment for them, he says, one they have been waiting for since the visit of Saint Pope John Paul II in 1984.
