#EOF2022 - Jean Fabre: 'Mobilize economies to overcome hunger'

Jean Fabre, a former deputy director of the UN Development Programme, shares his thoughts on the importance of the Economy of Francesco event, taking place in Assisi on 22-24 September.

By Francesca Merlo - Assisi, Italy

Most of those attending the Economy of Francesco in the Italian city of Assisi are young economists and entrepreneurs, but not all.

Learning is a two-way street, as Pope Francis often says, since the old need to learn from the young, as well as the young from the more experienced.

Among those learning from others and offering their years of expertise in humanitarian work is Jean Fabre, a former deputy director of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) from 1998 to 2008.

He spoke to Vatican News about why younger generations need to mobilize to fight hunger and inequality in all parts of the world.
