Venezuela: President Maduro to close Brazil border

Venezuela`s President Nicolas Maduro is closing the Border with Brazil to thwart US aid, which he says is a pretext for invasion. He is also considering sealing the Border with Colombia.

The decision of President Nicolas Maduro is intended to halt aid from Brazil, and almost certainly USAID entering Venezuela via Colombia. Both countries border on to Venezuela. Opposition Leader Juan Guaido is on his way in a convoy from Caracas.

He wants to cross over to the Colombian side and bring back stockpiled food and medicines by hand if necessary, along with thousands of his supporters. The Venezuelan Military are on high alert. Russia, which is a close ally of Venezuela has already sent 300 tons of aid this week.

Finishing touches are being put to preparations for a rock concert in Cucuta by a team of British tycoon Richard Branson to raise aid for Venezuela. While on the other side the Venezuelan Government is holding its own concert. One question is who`ll be holding the parcel when the music stops?
