Caravan of Migrants blocked on Mexico/US border

About 50 people from a Central American Migrants Caravan, including women and children, remain blocked on the US-Mexico border. They are waiting to find out if their requests for asylum will be met with acceptance, or if they'll start the long way home.

A huge Stars and Stripes flag can be seen, and also the twinkling lights of houses on US soil, beyond the San Ysidro Crossing point, which divides Tijuana from San Diego. About fifty of the migrants have crossed the bridge and are awaiting their turns to be accessed.

US Authorities said they had others to process before this could be done. Another fifty have been shivering in the thin cold night and early morning air, outside a huge gate. Some of the younger and more athletic had climbed the Border Fence and defiantly sat atop it.

Yet others who tried to slip across illegally, have already been detained.

The Caravan of 1,500 mostly from Honduras, started a month ago, and has now dwindled to about one hundred. US Attorney General Jeff Sessions has called it: "A deliberate attempt to undermine our laws and overwhelm our system." It's members insist they face certain death from drug cartels if they return home.
