Vatican Radio’s English Africa Service is celebrating its milestone 70th anniversary with a webinar entitled “Storytelling as a tool to manage racial and social tribulations in Africa”.

Among those attending the Friday afternoon event will be the Prefect of the Dicastery for Communication, Dr Paolo Ruffini.

The conference has been jointly organized by SIGNIS Africa and the English Africa Service.

English language broadcasts to Africa began in 1950. In 1979 the English Africa Service was created out of the English Programme.

Fr. Paul Samasumo is Head of the English Africa Service, and speaks about reasons behind the webinar and the importance of Radio as a communication’s tool today.
