There is one new positive case of the Covid-19 virus in the Vatican.
A statement released on Thursday by the Director of the Holy See Press Office, Matteo Bruni says that a Holy See employee has tested positive for the virus.
Mr Bruni notes that the employee has already been in isolation since mid-March, after his wife contracted the Coronavirus in an Italian hospital where she works.
This new case brings to seven the total number of people who have tested positive in the Vatican.
The Holy See Press Office Director also clarifies that at this time, “the various bodies and departments of the Holy See and the Vatican City State continue only in essential, mandatory and unavoidable activities, clearly adopting, to the maximum extent possible, the appropriate measures already communicated, which include remote work and rostering criteria, in order to safeguard the health of staff.”
