St. Saturnin, Martyr on the via Salaria nuova

One of countless martyrs during the early centuries of Christianity, St Saturninus was originally from Carthage. An inscription by Pope St Damasus records that, on account of his faith, he was exiled to Rome under the Emperor Decius. He was martyred in 304 by order of the Emperor Maximian.
