Pope Francis arrives in Lithuania

Pope Francis arrives in Vilnius and is welcomed to Lithuania by Lithuania's President and other political and civilian representativs.

Pope Francis arrived in Lithuania, landing at the airport in Vilnius. 

He was greeted by the Apostolic Nuncio, Archbishop Pedro López Quintana.

After disembarking the aircraft, Pope Francis was then received by President Dalia GrybauskaitÄ—. 

Children in native costume offered flowers to the Pope. 

He was also greeted by political and civil authorities. The welcome ceremony continued with the National Anthems, an honor guard, a salute to the flags of the respective flags, and the presentation of the delegations.

Pope Francis then transferred to the Presidential Palace.
