Appreciation continues for Pope’s nearness during lockdown

By Vatican News

Pope Francis’s daily Masses at the Casa Santa Marta were live-streamed from 9 March to 18 May to enable him to be closer to those who are ill, in quarantine or locked down due to Covid-19 precautionary measures.

With the end of the live-broadcast Masses and the easing of lockdown measures in many countries, the Pope encourages the faithful to return – wherever it is permitted – to encounter God physically in the sacraments.

However, gratitude continues to pour in for Pope Francis’s nearness to Catholics around the world through live-streamed daily masses during the lockdown.

The video above is the second compilation of some of those heartwarming messages of appreciation.

Gratitude

Many people from all walks of life emailed video and messages on the social media pages of Vatican News to express their heartfelt gratitude to Pope Francis for accompanying them during these trying times.

One of such messages reads:

“Dear Holy Father, Thank you for your beautiful liturgies every day during this Corona virus. I will miss your Holy Mass and your insightful homilies but I will continue to pray for you many times a day, in my Mass and Holy Rosary.”

Another message:

“I would like to thank Pope Francis for his morning Masses and his homilies. Covid-19 has opened up a whole new world for me on live stream. I never knew there was so much available. I always say go straight to the top and so here I am every day in my sitting room with the Pope and the Lord in Adoration visiting me. It can't get any better than that. “Lord, I am not worthy to have you under my roof” has taken on a whole new meaning for me. I am also learning so much about my Catholic faith from Pope Francis’s Homilies.”

Several other people have sent in short videos expressing their gratitude to Pope Francis for his accompaniment in this period.
