The Catholic Church’s World Meeting of Families is currently taking centre stage in Dublin, Ireland, August 21 to 26, on the theme, “The Gospel of the Family: Joy for the World”.  The core of the 5-day international event has been the pastoral congress, August 22-24, that included keynote speakers, workshops, discussions, exhibitions, art and cultural activities, daily celebration of the Eucharist and liturgical and prayerful activities.  A good part of the WMOF includes stories given by families from different parts of the world.

Pope Francis is joining the WMOF on Saturday and Sunday.

John and Erin are a Catholic family of 5 children from Philadelphia, United States, that just landed in the Irish capital to join the meeting.  Speaking to Lydia O’Kane of Vatican News, John and Erin said they are there as testimonies to the wonder that God works in life.
