Cardinal Napier of Durban shares his impression on the synod

On day two of the synod on young people, South African Cardinal Wilfrid Fox Napier speaks to Vatican News about his impression so far. Pope Francis on Thursday took part in the morning and afternoon general congregations or sessions of the synod of bishops on young people taking place in the new synod hall in the Vatican. The Holy Father opened the working sessions of the Synod on Wednesday evening by leading the Liturgy of the Hours, followed by his opening address to the assembly. During the homily at the opening Mass of the synod on Wednesday morning, the Holy Father prayed that the “Holy Spirit grant the Synod Fathers the grace to dream and to hope, so as to be able to anoint young people with the gift of prophecy and vision.” The meeting of more than 300 delegates is exploring the theme of “Young People, the Faith, and Vocational Discernment.” One of the African Church leaders participating in the synod is Cardinal Wilfrid Fox Napier of Durban, South Africa. He gave his impression so far to my colleague Linda Bordoni. Listen to Linda’s short interview with Cardinal Napier
